Mike spent a day with his rehab specialists, showing continued growth and improvement. He meets twice a day with his speech, occupational and physical therapists working intensely on many tasks. It is exhausting for him, but he continues to make more and more connections.
Some buddies from University of Montana called and visited and had Mike laughing about old times. A special thanks to Terry, Kelly and Lee who lifted everyone's spirits.
Mike has been moved to room 633 across from the nursing station.

For my treasured friend Mike, you are an inspiration to all who are privileged to know and love you. Your courage and determination are awesome, and your grace, dignity and ever-present love define you as a Man of Many Miracles.
A special note for the Hoonan Clan: Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your tireless vigilance and attention to Mike & Suzie’s well-being these last couple of weeks. Given the choice, none of us would have asked for this life lesson. Presented with it, however, we all had absolute choice about what to do, and I’ve learned so much from your selfless examples. (Each day a thousand treasures come to me with every passing moment. I am blessed with gifts throughout the day, in value far beyond all things of which I can conceive. A Brother smiles upon a Brother, and my heart is gladdened. [A Course in Miracles]) I love you all.

Dear Miracle Michael...It's such a joy to see your big smile and happy welcome when I visit you. I am so proud of your recovery and continued progress. Now we want to work towards that goal of March 31 to go home! So let's do it! You have all of our support and help to make it happen. Love, love, and more love to you and Susie, your wonderful partner. Mom
Mike,
We think of you every day and send our love and hopes to you and Susie. We know the steps ahead may be hard ones, but know as well that they will take you on the path to recovery. Take our strength and prayers with you. Love, Dawn & Chuck
Mike, I took you with me from Portland to Berkeley yesterday. Thanks for the mental distraction so I could think about your healing progress, instead of the cold rain I endured for most of the 650 miles. Motorcycling is such fun!
